United Way sponsors winter music festival
Mudtown Records presents the 2012 Lupercalia Winter Multi-Arts Festival in Owen Sound on February 17th & 18th,
And the United Way is a sponsor!
That must seem weird, why would a charity sponsor a community festival? Well this is roses!
We heard back from our low-income community that access to art, to music to the beauty remains a problem as most events have a ticket price associated with them. So we work with some of our local events to ensure "free events" for everyone and anyone. So where you see the United Way logo on the Lupercalia map, you know the United Way has stepped in to ensure that people of all incomes, and ages, can enjoy the event.
The United Way budgets $1000 per year to support access to arts programing, this is one such event.
