United Way’s ongoing generous donations help cover the cost of running our 3 Section 23 classrooms that we operate in conjunction with the Bluewater District School Board.  These classrooms help children who have mental health issues that prevent them from being successful in a regular classroom setting.  The money we receive covers the costs for materials, outings, food for the children, rewards and transportation.

United Way dollars also provide our crisis/assessment 7-bed residential program in Owen Sound with crucial programming money as well.  This program provides a short-term residential stay for youth who are in crisis who need a safe therapeutic environment to help them through their difficult time.  Activities the money support include recreation nights, skating, swimming, music, crafts and life skill programs.
