211 Information Service – Community Connection
211 is a three-digit phone number and website that provides information and referral to community and social services in Ontario. Our Certified Information and Referral Specialists are caring, understanding and knowledgeable, and pride themselves on their ability to connect you with the services you need.
Community Connection is an incorporated charitable organization known as a Community Information Centre, serving South Georgian Bay communities since 1969. Our mission is to connect people and organizations with information and resources to enable them to help themselves and others.
Community Connection provides a number of services to the Bruce Grey area. Our 24/7 community helpline, 211, is answered live by trained specialists who help callers find services in their community. We are currently working with the United Way on a pilot project to develop a Community Response Network which coordinates a network of community volunteers, business and agencies to respond to individuals and organizations with unmet needs.
United Way is very involved in assisting in all our services by providing ongoing advice and guidance and have been instrumental in connecting us with other key service providers, resulting in a number of new partnerships. United Way also provides funding to support our emerging programs – Volunteer Bruce Grey and the Community Response Network.
