On August 21st 2011, a powerful tornado killed one person and injured 37 others, causing catastrophic damage throughout Goderich, a town of 8,000 on the shores of Lake Huron about 100 kilometres north of London. The United Way of Bruce Grey and it's partner service 211 was there to help.

Nutritious Food Basket is a costing tool that is a measure of the cost of basic health eating which represents current nutrition recommendations from Eating Well with Canada's Food Guide and average food purchasing patterns reflective of the Canadian Community Health Survey 2.2 results.
Food costing is used to monitor both affordabilty and accessiblity of foods by relating the cost of food basket to individual or fmaily incomes.

The United Way of Bruce Grey has released its Winter Warmth report for the 2011 year. The United Way of Bruce Grey’s Winter Warmth program provides grants, of up to $500 per funding source or utility, to low-income residents.
